[00:00:05.150]and Empirical Studies lab here in the department,
[00:00:07.830]and we try to understand how software developers work,

[00:00:16.800]We have this infrastructure that we created in our lab.
[00:00:19.540]It's called iTrace.
[00:00:20.800]It's an eye tracking infrastructure
[00:00:22.360]that connects with an eye tracker,
[00:00:23.690]and lets developers track the eye movements
[00:00:26.050]while they're developing software.
[00:00:28.860]And this is unique because it automatically maps
[00:00:32.230]what you're looking at while you're working,
[00:00:34.270]even in the presence of scrolling, contact switching.
[00:00:37.020]You can open any number of files
[00:00:39.030]and it takes care of that behind the scenes.

[00:00:43.040]is my live eyes tracking movements.
[00:00:45.980]Being able to work on this research
[00:00:47.950]that's advanced in its field, it feels really rewarding
