- [00:00:10.040]traditional style residence halls here on campus.
- [00:00:12.720]It's gonna be you and a roommate in one room
- [00:00:15.050]and then how many roommates you have varies
- [00:00:17.180]from whether you're in traditional or suite style.
- [00:00:19.480]Right now you're in Abel.
- [00:00:20.840]There's Abel, Sandos, Harper, Schramm
- [00:00:23.150]and Smith, as well as Selleck.
- [00:00:25.050]Those are all gonna be traditional style dorms.
- [00:00:28.070]You're gonna have a bed like this that'll either
- [00:00:29.770]be all the way down or you can have it lofted.
- [00:00:32.730]And then something that's special to traditional style
- [00:00:34.880]residence halls is that you can have it cabin style,
- [00:00:37.290]so that's gonna hit kind of right about my hip here.
- [00:00:39.710]Every residence hall room will also
- [00:00:41.900]have a nice closet like this.
- [00:00:44.780]You'll have three different levels that
- [00:00:47.120]you can hang clothes on.
- [00:00:48.520]These drawers right here as well as a medicine cabinet.
- [00:00:51.690]Everyone is gonna have their own desk, which is really nice.

- [00:02:05.060]the shower, and there is a curtain for you
- [00:02:07.110]and there's even little spaces to put like shampoo.

- [00:02:14.060]in the community bathroom and showers.

- [00:02:41.740]in our traditional residence halls.

- [00:02:45.690]have this lounge area available for you guys,

- [00:02:49.560]First thing you've got just a nice little table
- [00:02:52.110]where you can come and study with your friends,
- [00:02:53.970]especially late at night, you don't have to
- [00:02:55.510]worry about keeping up your roommate.
- [00:02:57.150]You guys can come in here, work as late as you want.
- [00:03:00.140]And then when you're done working you can
- [00:03:01.370]come over here and kind of relax.
- [00:03:03.630]You can see we've got big, comfy couches.
- [00:03:06.540]There's arm chairs and a TV and
- [00:03:08.700]that's all free for student use.

- [00:03:11.900]and just kind of crash, hang out with your friends.
- [00:03:14.270]Your RA, or Residence Advisor, is also
- [00:03:16.710]probably gonna have some movie watching parties.
- [00:03:19.260]Or I know, for girls especially, we
- [00:03:20.840]always have a Bachelorette-watching party
- [00:03:22.610]in here, which is a lot of fun.
- [00:03:24.140]They'll bring some snacks, you guys
- [00:03:25.810]can all bond, watch some TV together.
- [00:03:28.560]It's a lot of fun.
- [00:03:30.800]This is a traditional residence hall laundry room.
- [00:03:33.070]So over here we're gonna have the washers
- [00:03:35.680]that cost $2.25 to wash here at the University.
- [00:03:39.360]Our machines take a debit or credit card.
- [00:03:41.700]And one thing that's really cool about our machines
- [00:03:43.840]is that we do have this website called myrevision.com
- [00:03:47.060]and it can tell you which machines are available.
- [00:03:49.180]You can also get sent reminders to yourself
- [00:03:51.570]about when you're laundry's gonna be done.
- [00:03:53.200]So that's super helpful when you're first
- [00:03:54.607]coming to college and getting used to
- [00:03:56.240]doing maybe your laundry for the first time.
- [00:03:58.160]And here we're gonna have the sink so
- [00:04:00.050]you can do large washing right there.
- [00:04:02.040]And then lastly over here we have the dryers.
- [00:04:04.350]It is free to dry here at the University.
- [00:04:06.410]Take advantage of free drying.
- [00:04:08.070]You can always throw a blanket in there,
- [00:04:09.350]get nice and toasty and head back to your room.
