[00:00:07.160]Hi everyone, my name is Alair.
[00:00:08.880]We're here at Love Library.
[00:00:10.570]We have many libraries spread out throughout campus,
[00:00:12.970]with a total of over three million books,
[00:00:15.170]but this is the biggest one, so let's go check it out.
[00:00:22.180]Behind us we have our Ask Us Desk.
[00:00:24.150]They're located all throughout campus,
[00:00:25.840]so they're very accessible to you.
[00:00:27.400]These friendly people will help you
[00:00:28.640]with whatever questions you might have about resources
[00:00:30.910]in the library and on campus.
[00:00:32.490]They'll help you find your way around campus,
[00:00:34.300]they'll help you find a book around the library.
[00:00:36.300]If you need a book, and we don't have it here,
[00:00:38.200]they'll help get it to you from different campuses
[00:00:40.160]or a different store.
[00:00:41.260]So now let's go check out the rest of the library.
[00:00:49.760]So right here we have only some
[00:00:51.190]of our many books in the library.
[00:00:52.990]Here you can also checkout books, movies, games,
[00:00:55.990]and a lot of other things.
[00:00:57.100]We also have some quiet study areas here, upstairs,
[00:01:00.210]downstairs, and everywhere in between.
[00:01:01.980]So let's go check out some
[00:01:03.100]of the private study rooms that we have.
[00:01:09.210]This is one of the many study rooms
[00:01:10.610]that we offer to students on campus.
[00:01:12.450]You can reserve study rooms up to two weeks in advance.
[00:01:14.750]Hold from four people up to 10 people.
[00:01:16.960]They also have whiteboards, a lot of outlets,
[00:01:19.500]really good wireless connection,
[00:01:20.950]and they're just a really great place for students
[00:01:22.640]to come and focus and study together.
[00:01:26.510]Now we are in the First Year Experience
[00:01:28.060]and Transitions Programs, as well as the explore center.
[00:01:30.780]Here we have quite a few resources for students to use,
[00:01:33.260]especially in their first year of college.
[00:01:35.360]In the First Year Experience and Transitions Programs office
[00:01:38.040]we offer what we call success coaches.
[00:01:40.200]Their jobs are really just to help you
[00:01:41.600]be successful at Nebraska.
[00:01:43.250]So if you come to college and you find
[00:01:44.670]that you're struggling with, maybe, time management,
[00:01:46.630]you don't know how to study for a science class,
[00:01:48.800]they will help you.
[00:01:49.633]We also have resources like the chemistry resource center,
[00:01:52.290]the writing resource center, the language lab,
[00:01:54.270]the speech lab, and many more.
[00:01:55.800]Another thing that we offer in this office
[00:01:57.770]is the explore center.
[00:01:58.930]I personally changed my major five times,
[00:02:00.920]and the explore center was very helpful.
[00:02:02.790]I came here and I took a personality test,
[00:02:04.700]we talked about my strengths and weaknesses,
[00:02:06.500]and they helped me find the right career path for me.
[00:02:08.620]The explore center also does pre-health
[00:02:10.610]and pre-law advising, so if you're wanting
[00:02:12.410]to go to graduate school after your time in Nebraska,
[00:02:15.320]they'll help you make sure you're taking
[00:02:16.520]the right classes to do so.
[00:02:17.960]Now we're gonna go and check out
[00:02:19.120]the Education Abroad office.
[00:02:24.720]So now we're at our Education Abroad office.
[00:02:27.140]Nebraska offers every student many opportunities
[00:02:29.480]to study abroad.
[00:02:30.390]You can go to a Nebraska faculty lend program,
[00:02:33.110]you can do Nebraska affiliated programs,
[00:02:35.330]and you can go for internships, practicums,
[00:02:37.380]and student teaching, and a lot more.
[00:02:38.910]I personally went abroad for a whole semester
[00:02:40.800]and it was the best experience of my college career.
[00:02:43.060]About 16 credits towards my degree.
[00:02:45.030]11 out of 10 recommend.
[00:02:46.440]If you're considering studying abroad
[00:02:47.920]you should definitely check out this office.
[00:02:50.830]So this wraps up the tour of our library.
[00:02:52.860]Please come visit us on campus,
[00:02:54.220]I would love to show you around.
[00:02:55.540]You can schedule a visit at go.unl.edu/visit,
