- [00:00:15.300]as a statewide coordinator for Early Intervention services.
- [00:00:19.170]So we are required to use evidence-based
- [00:00:21.910]practices and programs,
- [00:00:23.480]and working with infants and toddlers
- [00:00:25.110]with disabilities and their families.
- [00:00:27.260]Therefore, we rely on the early childhood research
- [00:00:31.260]to inform us as to what the best
- [00:00:33.610]and most effective practices are
- [00:00:36.020]in the field of Early Childhood.
- [00:00:39.100]Having the Nebraska Department of Education
- [00:00:41.320]and Health and Human Services
- [00:00:42.730]partner with the university's research
- [00:00:45.700]and evaluation systems, we can then
- [00:00:48.470]pool our resources and garner the best outcomes
- [00:00:51.320]for children and families in our state.
- [00:00:53.650]Well I think early childhood research is important.
- [00:00:55.910]Number one, we are a relatively early field.
- [00:01:00.340]And especially in terms of the research.
- [00:01:02.520]So, I think it's important to continue to look at
- [00:01:06.350]what's new and exciting in early childhood research,
- [00:01:11.700]and so that we can do right by the children and families
- [00:01:15.640]that we're serving in our communities,
- [00:01:17.690]and be on the cutting edge of what needs to happen
- [00:01:19.910]for them in order for them to be successful.
- [00:01:23.380]For me, in my work, I'm really interested in
- [00:01:27.230]more early childhood research
- [00:01:29.140]in the area of adult-child interactions,
- [00:01:32.390]and both in terms of parents,
- [00:01:34.890]but really then again in terms of providers
- [00:01:37.560]and how providers' mental health impacts how they deal
- [00:01:43.660]with children and families on a daily basis.
- [00:01:46.330]So, I am interested in and excited in
- [00:01:49.910]learning more from research about that in particular.
