- [00:00:09.600]is just the ability to kind of learn the adaptive leadership
- [00:00:12.880]and actually kind of apply what I could learn
- [00:00:16.040]to bring change about in my environment,
- [00:00:17.560]I'm very important about moving things forward
- [00:00:20.070]and kinda bringing change, so to have
- [00:00:22.240]the foundational theory to kinda base those things upon
- [00:00:25.180]is a little bit better and kind of feel more informed
- [00:00:27.910]and I wanna impact that change.
- [00:00:29.750]The in-depth explanation of adaptive leadership
- [00:00:32.910]as a format through which, a lens through which
- [00:00:36.600]to view a problem made a great impression on me.
- [00:00:39.770]And then also, using it in practice, to be able
- [00:00:42.730]to diagnose organizational problems
- [00:00:45.390]left a great deal of an impression on me as well.
- [00:00:48.350]I think that this particular subject
- [00:00:50.240]really relates so well to some things
- [00:00:53.830]that we are experiencing where I work.
- [00:00:57.294]So I saw this as a great chance to maybe
- [00:01:00.985]learn a different way of looking
- [00:01:03.380]at what we're going through.
- [00:01:05.630]And knowing what other companies are doing
- [00:01:08.595]with maybe this same thing or something similar
- [00:01:11.713]was a wonderful chance to be with some peers
- [00:01:15.362]just in a completely different atmosphere and environment.
- [00:01:20.070]There's definitely a lot of value to the content
- [00:01:22.220]that Dr. Messersmith is providing.
- [00:01:24.491]You know, it's relevant, it's current with,
- [00:01:26.860]you know, things that we're doing at our business.
- [00:01:29.620]But then you listen to some of the others in the class
- [00:01:31.760]and they're dealing with similar situations
- [00:01:33.710]but maybe from a different perspective.
- [00:01:36.080]Or a little bit different, you can get input
- [00:01:38.230]from people with different industry backgrounds
- [00:01:41.070]to maybe look at a problem that we're trying to overcome
- [00:01:44.292]from just a new set of eyes looking at it.
- [00:01:47.156]I believe that this program helped me to develop
- [00:01:51.240]some perspective and some tools with which
- [00:01:54.680]to diagnose the organizational problem,
- [00:01:57.965]because I think part of the problem is you may not be able
- [00:02:00.490]to explain or identify the issue, but once you can explain
- [00:02:04.690]and identify the issue, then you can begin to take steps
- [00:02:07.376]to make the changes that need to be made.
- [00:02:10.220]The biggest thing that I learned from the program,
- [00:02:12.120]what I wanna away immediately, is just understanding
- [00:02:14.750]other perspectives and how it goes through.
- [00:02:16.610]I think we sometimes get caught into our own paradigm,
- [00:02:19.390]our own perspective, but realizing from a problem solving
- [00:02:21.822]when you wanna do adaptive leadership, you have to recognize
- [00:02:24.960]what change you wanna do, how you can implement it,
- [00:02:27.035]but then also how can you help others recognize
- [00:02:29.740]and get that situation as well.
- [00:02:30.900]So really that's the take home for me is just
- [00:02:33.700]how I wanna look at things and understanding different
- [00:02:36.320]perspectives so I can actually bring different people
- [00:02:39.260]with different opinions together.
- [00:02:40.860]Not just force my own opinion but really
- [00:02:42.610]kinda work collaboratively.
