- [00:00:06.670]The best thing about college at the University of Nebraska
- [00:00:09.110]is a sense of community.
- [00:00:10.890]People in Nebraska is, like super friendly.
- [00:00:12.480]Like, they say hi all the time.
- [00:00:13.740]Which doesn't happen where I'm from.
- [00:00:15.950]First and foremost, the people around me,
- [00:00:18.310]is actually one of the main reasons why I had
- [00:00:19.840]such a good experience in Nebraska,
- [00:00:21.840]where everyone is just so welcoming.
- [00:00:23.610]Everybody here is very friendly,
- [00:00:25.740]very accepting the fact that I'm a little different
- [00:00:29.140]and my English wasn't good,
- [00:00:30.620]but everybody was very encouraging here.
- [00:00:33.650]The University of Nebraska supported me
- [00:00:36.120]by providing everything necessary for me
- [00:00:38.550]to be successful in academics,
- [00:00:41.040]be successful in my social life,
- [00:00:43.090]especially that I come from a different culture
- [00:00:46.280]and everything is different, where I come from.
- [00:00:48.470]They really helped me adapt and adjust to this new system.
- [00:00:52.610]Nebraska supported me by providing
- [00:00:55.649]an enormous amount of opportunities to grow.
- [00:00:58.890]My english has improved a lot
- [00:01:00.510]and I have made a lot of American friends.
- [00:01:03.340]Everybody is really helpful.
- [00:01:05.810]When I need something they are here for me.
- [00:01:08.560]The university support me in my career
- [00:01:10.850]by providing a scholarship, for me.
- [00:01:14.187]This is a very
- [00:01:16.290]great opportunity.
- [00:01:17.650]Some of the best memories of the UN,
- [00:01:20.080]is I'm really happy to say I'm part of a campus nightlife,
- [00:01:23.670]where we would organize events on the weekends,
- [00:01:27.400]where international students,
- [00:01:28.990]they have something else to do on weekends.
- [00:01:31.610]Me and my friends,
- [00:01:33.550]we were really passionate about badminton
- [00:01:35.060]and we just, like, thought it would be great to have a club.
- [00:01:37.300]To make it a recognized student organization,
- [00:01:39.220]because before this, it wasn't one.
- [00:01:41.910]I'm most of my accomplishment is when I study abroad,
- [00:01:45.950]in Barcelona, Spain.
- [00:01:47.810]And, it was really great.
- [00:01:49.140]I took, like, nine credits hour worth of class
- [00:01:52.040]and the experience is amazing.
- [00:01:54.550]For me, it was a football game.
- [00:01:57.510]It didn't matter who was sitting next to me.
- [00:01:59.380]I'm just there and having fun.
- [00:02:01.180]And every time there's a game day, that's what I do.
- [00:02:04.075]Go Huskers!
- [00:02:05.503]I think I'm different person now
- [00:02:07.210]because UN changed me to be a more confident person.
- [00:02:10.470]And then, I look back at the old me
- [00:02:12.820]and then I feel like that old me
- [00:02:14.630]is, like, kind of like a stranger now.
- [00:02:16.130]But, I still liked it, but I love the me now.
- [00:02:20.340]I've become really independent
- [00:02:23.240]because as a college student,
- [00:02:25.810]I have to make my own decisions in a lot of classes.
- [00:02:29.310]So, I need to really challenge myself
- [00:02:31.350]to be a decision maker.
- [00:02:34.440]One of my best memory, of my time here,
- [00:02:36.899]is I had time to visit all around Nebraska.
- [00:02:40.790]So, we went to try to understand
- [00:02:44.080]what type of plant disease are common in Nebraska,
- [00:02:48.010]horticultural system.
- [00:02:49.300]I plan to replicate the system when I go back to my country.
- [00:02:53.990]I'm more open-minded.
- [00:02:56.230]Now I can see the differences between the cultures,
- [00:02:59.140]here in Nebraska and back home.
- [00:03:01.700]Like, connected with people from all over the world,
- [00:03:05.370]creating new relationships and friendships,
- [00:03:08.340]and that's really amazing.
- [00:03:12.620]So, I'm gonna work at Spreetail,
- [00:03:14.690]as a financial analyst.
- [00:03:16.270]And, try to make sure that the company's running efficient,
- [00:03:20.810]and make a dent in the universe.
- [00:03:24.280]I'm really proud that I had the opportunity to meet
- [00:03:27.430]great people with great minds and great hearts.
- [00:03:30.760]People who help out other people but people who are
- [00:03:34.320]always taking on new challenges
- [00:03:36.080]and trying to achieve their best on a daily basis.
- [00:03:40.370]When I think back at the last four years at U of N,
- [00:03:43.890]I am really happy that I made a lot of friends.
- [00:03:46.500]I can feel my self improvement, like,
- [00:03:49.900]I was a really shy individual.
- [00:03:53.450]In the past, like, I can't speak English
- [00:03:55.490]and then I'm not confident enough,
- [00:03:57.040]and then people here in Nebraska, like,
- [00:03:58.980]in U of N they supported me a lot.
- [00:04:01.050]They teach me how to have self confidence in myself.
- [00:04:04.180]They were there for me every time I need help.
- [00:04:07.310]When I graduate, I hold on to the tradition,
- [00:04:10.620]that I learn from the school here.
- [00:04:14.180]It is about hardworking and ethics.
- [00:04:19.160]It helps me throughout my career,
- [00:04:22.040]all the way through the end.
- [00:04:24.670]And I pass it down to my children, as well.
- [00:04:28.250]I feel like I've made amazing friends and created memories
- [00:04:32.440]I wouldn't be able to make anywhere else.
- [00:04:34.340]University of Nebraska, helped me,
- [00:04:36.270]I would say, network,
- [00:04:37.990]and know where I want to go.
- [00:04:40.100]I plan to be a very active alumni.
- [00:04:43.480]I don't want to just leave and not contribute
- [00:04:46.410]anything to the university that's given me so much love.
- [00:04:50.140]Our time in Nebraska has been a time of empowerment,
- [00:04:54.590]and we have learned a lot,
- [00:04:57.020]and how we advance is to encourage every one of us
- [00:05:00.160]is to go back to where we from
- [00:05:04.460]and use this knowledge in a positive way
- [00:05:07.909]and also, we should continue to chase our dreams.
