It's long been observed that "weather is what you expect; climate is what you get." But what if the distinctions between weather and climate aren't so clear-cut? Seasonal predictions have been around for many years, showing the general likelihood of above- or below-average temperatures and precipitation over three-month periods that can extend more than a year out.
