CAPacity Building: Crop Insurance With Cory Walters, Associate Professor, Agricultural Economics; and Jessica Groskopf, Extension Educator/Agricultural Economist The crop insurance CAPacity Building webinar will discuss the workings of crop insurance. We will begin the discussion by defining insurance terms. We follow this by discussing why the concept of insurance is important. Then we will highlight the important elements — such as coverage level, insurance type, unit structure and endorsements (trend adjustment and yield exclusion) — when selecting a crop insurance contract. We will also discuss the spatial differences in crop insurance premiums as well as the role of county policies. We will leave plenty of time for participants to ask questions. ---- The Center for Agricultural Profitability (CAP) hosts the monthly professional development webinar series to deliver information and discussion on relevant farm management issues, federal programs, and related topics. The series is an internal webinar for Extension professionals to address both the relevant farm management and program topics and the role and opportunity for Extension professionals to work with clientele and engage with state and federal agencies
