Jeff Raikes - A Purposeful Life

In the fall 2018 semester, we were pleased to have Jeff Raikes talk with the Raikes School community about how to live "A Purposeful Life", which has been a theme to live by for Jeff. He has always felt compelled to reinvest in society through philanthropy. Through his work at Microsoft, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and fueled by his own experiences as a father and a husband, Jeff has a strong passion for supporting young people as they navigate life. It was with this passion that he and his wife, Tricia, founded the Raikes Foundation, an organization that focuses on helping young people reach their full potential. Because of their generosity and desire to give back, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln dedicated the Jeffrey S. Raikes School of Computer Science and Management in 2008, a premier program that combines the sectors of computer science and business.
