Star Trek: The Motion Picture
Description
Star Trek: The Motion Picture Screen Used Matte Painting for Exiting the Starship Enterprise, 1979 by Matthew Yuricich (Oil on board.) Collection of Trent Claus.
This USS Enterprise painting for Star Trek: The Motion Picture is one of the first times the exterior of the ship was seen with human scale references. Under the pressure of deadlines, this painting was photographed multiple times; however, a slightly less finished version ended up in the final film. The differences between the paintings can be seen in the top silhouette angle of the hull, the bridge, and the nacelles.
