The Lion King
Lion King Concept Illustration for Pride Rock, 1994 by Walt Disney Animation (Acrylic on acetate and watercolor on board). Collection of Trent Claus. The Lion King was released in 1994 as the Disney Studio's 32nd animated feature. There were no hand-painted cels used in the film. "Pride Rock" is the film's most prominent and important location. It is where Mufasa's son Simba is first held up to be received as the new prince and where Mufasa tells Simba that "everything the light touches is our kingdom."
