Habeas Corpus and Chinese Immigration During the Late 19th Century
Description
Dr. Katrina Jagodinsky's Habeas Corpus team transcribes and encodes Habeas Corpus petitions to discover how the law was utilized by marginalized populations during the late 19th century. By examining Habeas Corpus petitions by Chinese immigrants, we gain a better understanding of how Chinese immigrants used the law during the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882.
