Description

A tradeoff exists between increasing genetic diversity and accelerating rates of short-term genetic gain in breeding programs. However, new selection methods are available to help breeders break this tradeoff. In this talk I will illustrate these points using examples from my recent research based on real and simulated plant breeding programs.
