24 - 2020 Soybean Management Field Days - Row Width
Row Width - im Specht, UNL Emeritus Professor of Agronomy and Horticulture covers the following: Most data to date suggests that soybean yield is greater as the row width is narrowed, particularly in later planting dates, but not so much when soybeans are planted in early May. Surveys of NE soybean producers indicate that the predominate planters are 30-inch or 15-inch, with the former dominating in irrigated production systems. Planting soybeans on the farm quicker in the spring is more likely to enhance yield making a row-spacing choice.
