Description

As the transportation sector looks toward a future that is increasingly electric, what are the implications for the future of ethanol? Increased ethanol blending can offset declining demand for gasoline, extending the useful life of the existing ethanol industry. But well before mid-century, the ethanol industry needs to find new markets, such as using ethanol as a precursor to make other fuels, especially aviation fuels or biomaterials and to diversify into other crops and markets.
