The University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Business Administration has helped Emily Koopmann on her path to a career. She's embraced all college has to offer, studying abroad, taking internships, and keeping active in student government.

[00:00:04.033]girl who came for the Big Red experience.
[00:00:06.060]It was a complete honor and surprise to me
[00:00:08.080]to be elected the UNL homecoming queen. It shows
[00:00:11.044]that I have a commitment to academics and service
[00:00:13.091]in my community and here on campus. Right now
[00:00:16.044]I am active in student government. I'm a senator
[00:00:18.081]for the College of Business and the chair of the
[00:00:20.065]Diversity Strategic Development Committee.
[00:00:22.089]I'm part of a mentoring program that works
[00:00:24.092]with other young leaders in the community.
[00:00:27.002]My junior counselor is a sophomore in
[00:00:29.007]high school and I've helped her be an effective leader.
[00:00:32.019]I studied abroad in England at the
[00:00:34.080]University of Oxford. It enabled me to get outside
[00:00:37.020]of my comfort zone and get a global perspective.
[00:00:40.010]I'm actually thinking about going into the
[00:00:41.098]ministry and my business background has helped
[00:00:44.024]me to be a great communicator and my background
[00:00:46.061]in economics has helped me understand
[00:00:48.034]the type of change I want to see in urban areas.

[00:00:53.082]to find who I am and who I want to be.
