NIHI vs. Swine Flu
(Radio News, Week of May 4, 2009)
Description
Swine flu is used to describe the influenza found in pigs. None of the North American instances of swine flu in people have been linked to contact with pigs. Nebraska swine producers should continue with standard bio-security practices to prevent swine flu from becoming an issue on their operation. Scott McVey, University of Nebraska-Lincoln Professor of Clinical Microbiology and Director of the Veterinary Diagnostic Center.
